Background to NWCSC and the Role
Cyber security is a rapidly growing sector and a key enabler of technological advancement, supporting economic growth and protecting UK plc.
NWCSC promotes collaboration and knowledge exchange to develop the cyber ecosystem, promote innovation and grow cyber skills in the Northwest of England. We look for opportunities to facilitate the development and expansion of cyber organisations.
Established in January 2021 as a not-for-profit Community Interest Company, NWCSC are now looking to bring in an Engagement and Operations Manager to support and promote the work of the NWCSC and help us deliver our objectives.
Location: For the majority of the time the role will involve working remotely/virtually, however, we are looking to obtain an office-based location to attend in-person meetings.
Job Type: Permanent – 37.5 hours per week. (Flexible hours available)
Rate: £22,500
Start Date: November 2022
Role Description
Responsibilities:
- Support functions to the NWCSC board (Minute taking and scheduling meetings)
- Support to NWCSC board members e.g., diary management and organisation of meetings
- Responsible for the organisation and delivery of cluster events
- Overseeing the delivery of NWCSC marketing, communications and promotional activities
- Draft reporting to UKC3 on spend and delivery of cluster initiatives and related outcomes, including working with board members to obtain and collate content
Skills:
Essential
- Good communication skills, written and verbal
- Good organisational skills including the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
- Diary Management
- Reporting
- Minuting and documenting decision points and actions from board level discussions
Desirable
- Budget management
- Event organisation and management
- Supplier / contract management
- Marketing / social media management
Experience:
- Experience providing administrative support to multiple stakeholders
- Cyber, digital or technology sector experience highly desirable
- Experience of working with stakeholders from central government and the not-for-profit sector is desirable
Competencies:
- Works proactively and without close supervision
- Takes a solution focused approach and enjoys problem solving
- Believes in partnership working and has the ability to quickly develop working relationships
- Takes a flexible approach to working, is comfortable working remotely and can adapt to meet the changing needs of the organisation
